The girth welds of LNG cryogenic storage tanks are mostly submerged arc transverse welding, and the longitudinal welds are usually arc welding bottom. However, there are some problems in arc welding, such as low welding efficiency, high operator requirement, and great influence of welder's level on welding quality stability. In view of the current problems in the vertical ring joint of LNG storage tank, Nanjing AoTE has developed a series of automatic welding equipment and automatic welding process for the vertical ring joint welding of LNG storage tank through the upgrading of automatic welding equipment, the experimental development of automatic welding process, and the experimental application of engineering projects.
